Feel Free: Celebrate National Parks Week NY  Feelfreelogo


Join EarthShare New York member National Parks Conservation Association for National  Parks Week NYC from September 19-27, 2009.  EarthShare New York has partnered with NPCA for this week-long series of events, aimed at celebrating and enjoying the National Parks of New York City as well as planning for the future of the parks as they enter their next 100 years. 

National Parks Week NYC will feature events sure to please young and old alike, such as a lantern tour of Fort Wadsworth, an evening tour of Liberty Island and much more.  Make sure not to miss the signature event, “Feel Free: National Parks Celebration in Central Park.”  This free evening of music and film will feature selections from Ken Burns’s new PBS documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea,” as well as musical acts including: Eric Benet, Gavin DeGraw, Jose Feliciano, Carole King, Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas and Peter Yarrow, Counting Crows and Augustana.  Join NPCA, Ken Burns, Dayton Duncan, and PBS Central Park's East Meadow on Wednesday, September 23 starting at 7:00 p.m. for this great event.
